Mr. Kannan Narain is a veteran of the shipping industry in Mumbai. He has been a Freight Broker for the past 23 years, and has handled a multitude of key projects for large business houses. He is known for his impeccable business ethics and vast practical experience in handling large exporters in diverse industries.
 
In 1999, Staarship was born in his mind as an information portal for the Containerized Shipping Industry. The idea gradually evolved and grew further into a software solutions company that provides both online and offline solutions to the international shipping trade and logistics community. The magnitude and sheer value of this project demanded that Kannan wind up his well-established business to pursue this project meaningfully.
 
Kannan is on the visiting faculty of various management institutes, prominent among them being Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), S.P.Jain Institute of Management Studies and Exim Management Institute among other premier business schools in Mumbai.
 
Kannan brings to Staarship his vast experience and in depth understanding of the container shipping trade.

Sandy Tungare is a proven entrepreneur with a rare mix of technology vision, keen business acumen and inspirational leadership. In 2000, Sandy formulated the ideas that are the foundation of Vistaar Technologies.
 
Sandy was an early pioneer in the field of multi-dimensional technology and is widely acclaimed for having crafted unique and visionary software products using that seminal technology.
 
In 1986, Sandy co-founded Think Systems, where he served as Chairman and CEO. At Think Systems, Sandy grew the company from a three-person start-up to a multi-national operation with 150 employees.
 
Sandy received his MBA from Rutgers University and a Bachelor's Degree from Bombay University.
 
Sandy's entrepreneurial vision and dynamic leadership quality is the guiding force behind Staarship.

Shekhar Iyer is responsible for the day-to-day management of Vistaar Technologies' software development operations in India. Shekhar Iyer spent 12 years at the Bombay headquarters of Chase Manhattan Bank. At Chase, Shekhar held various positions in the Corporate Finance and Global Services divisions and was responsible for origination, marketing and execution of products, including derivates, project advisory, syndicated loans and capital market bonds to top tier corporate clients in the private and public sector. In Global Services, he managed a team, consisting of 10 sales professionals, responsible for marketing cash management services and structured trade products to clients in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives and Mauritius. In 1996, Shekhar was the recipient of the "Ambassador Award" given to the most successful salesperson in Asia Pacific region. At the time of leaving the bank, he was the head of the Capital Market Fiduciary Services division in India.
 
Prior to Chase, Shekhar worked in Bank of India for 11 years. Among his various assignments in the bank, he was part of a team that created computerized credit information and monitoring system for the bank's credit portfolio - a system that was later adopted as an industry standard.
 
Shekhar holds a degree in Commerce and a Masters in Administrative Management from Bombay University.

Shekhar's considerable business & financial acumen is the force behind every key decision that Staarship takes.

Santosh brings approximately 12 years of IT experience to the team. For over four years, Santosh served as Development Manager for i2 Technologies, where he managed global development teams, set up strong developments teams in India, and ran joint development programs with customers. He also handled some of i2's flagship products for manufacturing, retail, and the service and maintenance industry. Prior to i2, Santosh was with Citicorp Overseas Software Ltd (COSL) and was responsible for corporate banking product development for Citibank Europe and India.

Santosh obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) degree from Bombay University and PGDSE from ICA in collaboration with Harvard University.

Santosh has responsibility for leading the technology team.

Ajay has over 17 years of IT experience in HCL Infosystems, including 7 years with HCL Hewlett-Packard Ltd. Having joined HCL as Sr. Marketing Executive, he held various positions as Associate Vice-President (Western India -Operations) and Country Head for HCLs Government business in India, and was instrumental in leading HCLs successful e-Governance initiative in states like Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

Ajay has wide ranging experience in sales and marketing of hardware, software, solutions and technology integration projects. Some of the large technology integration projects that were personally led by him include Central Depository Services, Bombay, Stock Exchange, Sterlite Industries-implementation of SAP, Shipping Corporation of India (Main-frame downsizing), TATA NYK, FDA-Maharashtra and BHEL.

Ajay, after graduating in commerce, went on to do his post-graduate studies in Management and Computer Systems and is a qualified trainer in the Phil Crosby Quality Improvement Methodology.

Ajay is an integral part of the core team that shapes Staarship's business strategies.

Rajkumar holds a degree in Commerce from Bombay University and a Post-graduate diploma in Systems Analysis & Design from the National Institute of Information Technology (India).

Rajkumar was formerly handling regional finance at the NSCSA-Dubai office for their Asia & Middle East operations.

At Staarship, Rajkumar was associated with setting up of Vistaar & Staarship operations in Mumbai and presently handles the day-to-day operations including product design & finance. He has also been involved in evolving the Staarship Beacon Finance module and has played a key role in conceptualization, design and implementation.

Devanarayanan has been actively involved with Beacon development since its inception and has also contributed towards implementation at various sites. He was formerly involved in development and implementation of shipping solutions for various shipping companies.

With over 6 years of experience in developing shipping solutions, he presently heads the development team and is responsible for overall product development and solutions delivery.

Devanarayanan is a Commerce graduate from Madras University and has a Post-graduate diploma in Software Applications from Software Solutions (India).
